Hello There Beauties!

So I have a confession! Over half my lipstick collection is Mac lipsticks. Mac cosmetics lipsticks have such a wide range of color, which makes it easy to have that perfect shade of pink! A lot of other lipsticks brands have a diverse wheel of color, but it does not even compare to that of Mac. Plus, Mac lipsticks are a lot cheaper than some of those higher end brands at Sephora! I love how their lipsticks are categorized by the way that they wear on the lips. Mac lipsticks come in the following finishes: Amplified, Amplified Creme, Cremesheen, Frost, Glaze, Lustre, Matte, Retro Matte, Satin. The names of the finishes are pretty self explanatory. If it is a matte finish, there is no shine to the lipstick and it is long wearing. If it has a creme sheen finish than it applies smoothly and has a very pigmented but creamy finish, etc.

DSC_1790I have a few different lipstick finishes in my collection and love each one for a specific purpose. If I am wanting a more subtle lip, then I will go for a lustre finish that wears like a sheer layer or gloss. But if I am wanting bold and dramatic, then I go for a matte finish that is very pigmented. So without further adieu, these are my top five Mac lipsticks!

1. Brave (Satin)- This is a mauve and slightly brown toned pink color. It is my ‘go to’ nude lip color. The satin finish applies to the lips smoothly. This color has been said to be similar to that “Kylie Jenner” lip color trend.

2. Kinda Sexy (Matte)- This is a warm peachy pink color that is beautiful on the lips! The great thing about this lipstick is that is wears like a nude lipstick, meaning it can go with many different makeup looks.

3. Shy Girl (Cremesheen)- This is a beige peach color that has a slight hint of gold to it that looks like a soft shimmer on the lips. This is one of Mac’s top selling shades. It’s a great nude lipstick to pair with a smokey eye. This is also my husband’s favorite lipstick that I wear!

4. Please Me (Matte)- This is a cool toned vivid pink color that is not too “Barbie like.” It is the perfect wearable everyday pink shade.

5. Shy Shine (Lustre)- This is a “my lips but better” kind of shade. It just enhances your lip color by adding a sheen to the lips with a little beige undertones. I throw this lipstick on and I do not have to think about whether or not it goes with the rest of my makeup or outfit.
