Kimono: Shein c/o Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Lipstick: Here Heels: Similar Jeans: Express
I was never really excited by kimonos. For whatever reason, I wasn’t really drawn to them and had never bought one in my life. That was until I laid eyes on this one. I have said this several times on here, but I seriously get weak at the knees when I see anything resembling lace. I have a minor addiction. Throw a little lace and fringe on a kimono and you have the perfect equation for the best kimono ever!
I do have a funny story to go along with this piece though! I decided to wear this to work the other week and I paired it with booties that had a lot of zippers on them. That was my first mistake. Every time I would sit, the fringe would tangle in my bootie zippers, so that when I stood up, I was stuck and couldn’t walk. Combine this situation in front of a room of first graders, and you will have a room of giggling children! The funniest part was that I kept forgetting about it. So it would happen all over again. By the end of the day, my students were saying things like, “You really shouldn’t wear zippers on your shoes with that Mrs. McDonnell!” So, lesson learned. Do not wear zippered booties with this unless you want to live on the dangerous side of course!
Needless to say, I am still a kimono convert. I can totally see myself wearing this over a swim suit at the beach, or even with a spaghetti strap dress with wedges. So definitely think about picking up a kimono to add to your Spring and Summer wardrobe.
That’s all for today. Check back tomorrow for a new post!
