Let’s get real. We know life is not perfect, no matter how much it may appear so on your social media feeds. Although I often strive for a picture picture Instagram, I have always tried to keep it honest on my Insta Stories and give you small insights to how things are not always as perfect as they appear. Recently, I have really been struggling to find balance. Starting a new full time job has really thrown me in all kinds of wack with trying to keep up with all my roles including mother, wife, blogger, cook, housecleaner, etc. As women, we tend to bite off more than we can chew and recently I have felt like I am barely keep my head above water.

I have officially been blogging for 4 years! Although I did not get serious about it until two years ago, I have had my own little blog space on the Internet since September 2014. At the time, blogging was starting to become a thing, but is NOTHING like the influencer world has become today. Many of us had no idea it could be careers or produce any kind of income. But things are shifting, and the word of blogging just might be coming to an end.

We are busy. As I stated above, I am struggling to make enough hours in the day to complete all of my tasks. And many days I barely have time to even scroll through Instagram once. People are not reading blogs anymore. Honestly I am shocked that you have even gotten this far into this post. And guess what, I AM NOT READING POSTS EITHER! That my friends is a problem. So what is the truth? Is the truth that we have the time to sit and enjoy a post from our favorite internet gal or have we convinced ourselves that the satisfaction of scrolling through a feed or Facebook is more appealing.

I believe the root of this dilemma is instant gratification. We want things immediately. That’s why apps like LIKEtoKNOW.it became so popular. We didn’t want to take even 2-3 minutes to read an outfit post, we just wanted to screenshot outfit details to instantly find out what someone is wearing. Although this convenience has been ground breaking for some, for others is is destroying the blogging industry.

This whole dilemma is a huge reason why I am attempting these one minute outfit videos. Because I am busy just like you. I am my own best audience. I get how fast passed life is and how most days you barely have a second to yourself. But as a content creator this whole instant gratification game is devastating. The reality is SO MUCH TIME and EFFORT are put into each piece of material I place on the web. And it can be so discouraging to put so much of yourself into something that is barely being received. Especially when apps like Instagram have algorithms that don’t even make content creating fair when they purposely hide profiles from your feed. You are not even IN CONTROL! You may follow someone, but Instagram decides if you see it or not.

It can be such a frustrating battle when you know there are people who are inspired by your content. But they are not even in control of whether or not they come across it on social media. That is why I want to encourage you to sign up for my email list. YOU will control when you see my content. As a content creator, I want to serve you. How can I provide you with material that is suitable for your lifestyle? Do you like short videos? Do you just like the pretty photos for scrolling for inspiration? Or are you one of the few who still love to actually read post. I would absolutely love your feedback. Leave a comment below!

So is the world of blogging dead? You tell me.

Yes Hannah! I agree!

You are right on!!!! Take control of what content you see or have the option to see. Email is the way to go. It’s the only real-estate in the virtual world that we actually own and control. Love you!!!
