You have no idea how good it feels to be back blogging! It has been a really difficult week to say the least. If you follow me on my social media platforms, especially Snapchat (glamlifeliving), then you know that it has been one chaotic day after another. I won’t get into the details, but long story short, I got into a car accident on Friday and then moved Saturday and Sunday. And that is only the tip of the ice burg! But I do want to focus on the positive today, and that starts with lifting my spirits with a little fashion chat!
Now that I have moved, I feel like I can finally start to embrace and enjoy the Christmas season. I put up my Christmas tree last night, and I am so thrilled with the way it turned out! I will definitely be sharing a few pictures on the blog later this week. But now that the chaos is slowly starting to settle, I have started thinking about Holiday parties and festivities. And you know that means I automatically start obsessing over what to wear to all of these events!
In most of the stores around you, you will probably be seeing a whole lot of glitter. And I will definitely be getting on board with the look in some of my upcoming posts. But today, I wanted to share a more wearable look. Because let’s be honest. Not everyone is thrilled about getting into a sequin ensemble! When you think of this time of year, you generally picture a red dress or a little black number. But I wanted to change it up and show you how you can be festive without going the traditional route. So here are my tips on what to wear to a holiday party!
1. Stick to Solid Colors
Now this is not at all necessary. But I love going with solid colored dressed for events and parties. I think it is a lot easier to accessorize when you have one color. That way you can wear a fun colored lipstick and experiment with bags and shoes more freely.
2. Opt for a Clutch
Whenever you are heading to a more formal event, I always suggest bringing a small bag instead of your usual throw all purse. The outfit automatically seems more special if you carry a small clutch. Plus you are not as stressed lugging around a giant bag!
3. Don’t Skip the Bold Lips
Bold lips are a MUST during this time of year. I know red can be super intimating, but I promise you that you can pull it off! If you are still nervous, then try a dark pink shade instead.
4. Don’t Go Overboard
What I love about this dress is that is is trendy, but appropriate for any kind of Christmas party. Whether it is an office party or New Years Eve, this dress will make you feel flirty and festive without worrying if everyone is questioning your outfit choice! Plus it is on sale, so you can’t go wrong!
Have you started thinking about what you are wearing for Christmas? I have lots of looks coming soon!
Talks for popping over!
