I know a lot of us are in a hurry in the morning and tend to skip the primer step in our makeup routine. But if you really want your makeup to last through the day, this step is necessary! Priming your skin not only gives a smooth surface for the foundation to lay on, but it also increasing the longevity of the products you put on after primer.

A trend in the beauty world is to switch to BB creams and tinned moisturizers in the hotter months because they are lighter in consistancy and do not feel as heavy on the skin. If that is your typical routine, than that is perfectly fine to continue. But I usually continue to wear foundations because I enjoy the coverage that they provide. Liquid lipsticks have recently become a huge trend due to their long wearing ability. They apply like a lipgloss, but then they dry to a matte lipstick formula. What is great about these formulas is that you can eat, drink, and sweat without them wearing off. I have found 5-6 hours of wear time before having to reapply!

This might just be the most important step of all! If you want your makeup to last, you must set it in place! Otherwise all those products that you applied will move around your face through the day, especially in the heat. I like to first set my face with a translucent powder (focusing the product in the T Zone) and then I set the entire makeup look with a makeup setting spray. This will ensure the makeup will stay put through that difficult summer weather!
