7 Spring Makeup Tips

In the spirit of Spring cleaning, I have begun to update my makeup bag for the Spring Season! I am that person who walks around her house with a trash bag, looking for anything and everything I can get ride of. Sometimes I even find myself in my husband’s closet, sneakily looking for those dreaded items I would give anything to dispose of!

I love to refresh my life, which is definitely why I catch the Spring Cleaning fever. Spring is not only a great time to rid yourself of clutter, but also update your look. Every season you should just slightly update your makeup look. Just as fashion changes with the seasons, so does makeup!

I pulled together a few different ways that you can change up your look to feel more fresh faced and pretty for the Spring season!

Spring Ready Makeup

1. Skip a Heavy Foundation

Now I am a girl that is all about full coverage, but in the Spring it can be nice to go for a lighter formula at least for a few days a week. Opt for either a BB Cream, Tinted Moisturizer, or even mineral makeup so that your skin can breath a little better as the warmer weather approaches.

2. Go for Creams Instead of Powders

Fresh faced makeup is really popular in the Spring. Think of a more minimal and natural look. As I talked about in my post 7 Things I Learned from Makeup School, creams look a lot more natural on the skin than powders do. Try a cream blush instead of a powder to give the appearance of naturally flushes cheeks.

3. Get Glowing Skin

Not all of us are blessed with dewy, glowing skin. But thankfully we can fake it until we make it in this department. Under your makeup wear a creamy moisturizer and hydrating primer. And investing in a highlighter is an absolute essential! Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecters give a gorgeous sheen to the skin and they come in a variety of different colors. But most important you need to hydrate your skin from the inside out my drinking lots of water and eating your fruits and veggies!

7 Spring Makeup Tips4. Peach is your New Favorite Color

Peachy pinks look stunning for Spring Makeup. Pick up a new peach toned blush and lipstick and you will feel more fresh faced than ever before! Peach just gives that naturally pretty look which is perfection for this time of year.

5. Don’t Be Afraid of a Little Color

The brighter the better for switching up your makeup this season. Don’t be afraid to go bold with your lipstick! I know it can be intimating, but trust me when I say EVERYONE looks good with a little color on their lips. If you are a beginner in the bold department, I suggest going for a pink shade. But if you have no fear, try a bold coral or pink toned red!

6. Be a Bronzed GodessĀ

Yes, It is time to pull out those bronzers! It is now totally appropriate to look like someone gave you a spray tan just by bronzer application. Okay, maybe not that much bronzer…. PLEASE don’t say “Hannah said it was okay to wear 7 layers of bronzer” I will not back you up on that… ANYWAY. Give your skin some color by adding bronzer as well as shades of gold and bronze in your eye shadow colors. Shimmery eyeshadows look beautiful in the Spring.

7. Bat Those Lashes

Layer on that mascara girl! I find that when I am going more minimal with my face makeup, it looks best to really emphasis my eyes by playing up my lashes. Pick out a new dramatic mascara [My Favorite is Too Faced Better Than Sex]. Or step outside your comfort zone and try to apply some false lashes for a date night or even Easter Sunday.

Don’t feel like you need to do each and every one of these things to be “Spring Ready.” Just choose a few simple changes that you can make to update your look. It’s fun! Step outside your makeup rut and try a few new things and you will be feeling like you can conquer the world just because your lipstick is ” So Totally On Point!”

What are your favorite Spring makeup trends?
