What I’m Wearing
Blazer: Theory, Similar // Skirt: Similar, Similar // Bag: Topshop // Shoes: Similar // Hoops: Similar
The old rule about not wearing white after Labor Day is long gone. It can be hard to change your thinking with this long time fashion rule. But I assure you, it is not only okay, but super chic! There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to styling your white look during the fall and winter months. But with these tips you will nail it out of the park.
1. Style It with Darker Items
During the fall season, I do suggest combining your white items with blacks, browns, and other warmer hues. Closer to winter, you will find bright whites paired with pastels. But for the time being, it can look too “summery” to pair white with lighter hues. Even if you go for an all white outfit, look for accessories to tie it in that will give your look a more autumn feel.
2. When in Doubt Go Cream or Off White
If you are struggling to make that transition, ease into wearing it this time of year with a warmer version of the color. Creams and off whites look very natural during these months. I love the way cream looks with browns in the fall months. It looks so elegant and chic.
3. Wear in the Form of Print
Polka dots are big this season once again. So you can always wear white as an underlying shade in the printed clothing items. This polka dot skirt is easily made more fall appropriate by pairing it with the black accessories and a brown bag.
Are you hesitant to wear white in the fall and winter months? Is it hard to transition your thinking. Winter whites and creamy shades can be so crips and stunning during the next few months. So I challenge you to step outside your comfort zone and give it a try!
