Who doesn’t dream about escaping to a tropical destination this time of year? Okay yeah, it may be a little hot in some places, but you shortly forget that fact after one or two piñata coladas! Our social media feeds are flooded with fancy vacations, beach getaways, and fun in the sun. But even if you don’t have a lavish vacation planned anytime soon, you can easily dress the part and have a little staycation instead!
I have mentioned again and again on this space that how we dress can impact our mood and happiness. I really believe one of the most important things that you should consider when getting dress in the morning is if that piece sparks joy. We crave vacations because they allow us to let loose and relax. But you can achieve the same peace whether you are traveling or not. So whether you are headed out for a exciting trip to Mexico or just to your local Taco Tuesday, you can dress like you are ready to dance with the best of them!
I will admit that moving to Florida does seem like you are on vacation. And it has felt like that at times as we explore new locations (like this shoot in Tarpon Springs). But even though we live in the tropics, it isn’t rest and relaxation all the time! I actually wore this dress out for a birthday party on a Taco Tuesday! I paired it with these Soludos wedges that are surprisingly comfortable. That day I even paired it with a coral toned red lipstick and wore my hair in a sleek bun. And then for this shoot, I changed it up with a half up hairstyle and a neutral toned lip!
If you are headed out for a more exciting getaway other than Taco Tuesday (which is still pretty exciting if I do say so myself), I think this Greylin dress is just the perfect thing to pack in your suitcase. I love that it can easily be taken from day to night. For day, pair with slide sandals, no makeup, and big sunglasses. And then dress it up at night with a pair of wedges, bright lipstick, and big earrings! Bold colors, fringe detailing, and a cotton blend make for a fun vacation look.
