What I’m Wearing
Dress: Gal Meets Glam // Faux Fur Coat: Similar, Similar // Heels: Similar, Similar // Sunglasses: BP, Similar, Similar
It’s still cold. I’ll admit that I had a burst of spring energy and excitement during my travels to warmer climates last month. But the weather in Dallas has been in the 30s, and to me, that is very cold! I have been a little disheartened as I stare into my closet longing to wear all of my spring clothes. There must be many of you out there that are feeling the exact same way.
As it is the beginning of March, we really are just around the corner from many spring occasions such as baby showers, bridal parties, and spring weddings. As it is usually appropriate to wear a dress for such events, I thought it fitting to bring you a look that you can wear to these spring occasions even if it is still cold where you are.
For those of you who prefer timeless and classic dress styles, you will love the fit and look of this dress by Gal Meets Glam. Priced at $158 it is a dress that can hang in your closet and be worn and worn again as these parties resurface year after year. And when you drop that kind of money on a dress, you want it to be a faithful item in your wardrobe.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind when you are in a situation where you have to dress nicely but it is still very cold outside. Here are my tips on how to wear an occasion dress in the winter!
Wear a Dressier Coat
It just doesn’t look right to pair a nice dress with your old and worn winter coat. Go for a faux fur to add some glamour while staying warm. If it is closer to spring, wear a white color to brighten and freshen the look.
Opt for Closed Toed Shoes
It can be tempting to sport the wedges and sandals to an event when the calendar says spring but the weather isn’t cooperating. But keep those toes tucked away because heat escapes faster through your feet. Try a closed toe block heel instead.
When In Doubt, Wear Tights
I know it isn’t always the ideal way to wear your favorite dress. But if you really had your heart set on wearing your favorite little number and the weather is still frigid, throw on a fleece pair of black tights for added warmth.
Is it started to look like spring where you are? Or is still feeling very much like winter? I’d love to know where you are from! Comment and let me know! Thank you so much for reading.
