Top Beauty Secrets Revealed

Through trial and error, I think it is safe to say that we have all learned a thing or two about beauty practices in our time. I have had my fair share of beauty mishaps such as super dark eye liner and undone brows. But thankfully I have accumulated a few tips and secrets that I have kept up my sleeves. Learning what other women use and love has always been super interesting for me. Peeking inside other ladies’ medicine cabinets may or may not be a guilty pleasure of mine! But today, I wanted to reveal some of my best kept beauty secrets!

Keep Hair Color Fresh

You must invest in a good quality shampoo and conditioner, such as the Pureology Hydrate line, if you want your color to last. Using lower end brands can actually strip your hair of the fresh color and make it fade more quickly.

If you are a blonde, washing your hair with a purple shampoo at least once a week is an absolute must to get ride of any brassy tones.

Save Money on Nail Appointments

I am not one who has naturally beautiful nails that I can simply paint and call it a day. I used to think the only way I could have nice nails was to pay someone to do a gel manicure every two weeks. But recently, I started purchasing Kiss Gel Fantasy press on nails and have been shaping them myself. They last about two weeks on my nails as long as I file the nail underneath to give the glue something to hold onto.

Long Lashes

Before I was pregnant, I was obsessed with my Neulash Serum that significantly made a difference in the length and appearance of my lashes. But it is not safe to use while pregnant. In the meantime, I swear by using white lash primer such as L’Oreal. I pair it with my favorite mascara, YSL The Shock. It makes my lashes look a lot fuller and longer. A great drugstore alternative is the new L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara

Clear Skin

I have been one to struggle with light acne on and off for years. Pregnancy actually did wonders for my skin and I am hoping it will stay clear when baby gets here. But my biggest tips in keeping your skin clear is to use natural and gentle products. I swear by Vasseur Skincare. And seriously, stop picking at your face! The only breakout I have had since being pregnant was a tiny whitehead that I tried to pick. It inflamed and wouldn’t go away for almost two weeks! Picking only makes things worse. Before pregnancy, I cut dairy from my diet, and I noticed that that made a huge difference in the clarity of my skin.

Plump and Hydrated Lips

Lip scrubs can be pricey for what they actually are. You can make your own with equal parts brown sugar/ coconut sugar and coconut oil. Simply rub on your lips to remove the dead skin and wipe clean. Dry lips are also a sign of dehydration. So drink up! And for faking pump lips, first I slightly overdraw my upper lip with lip liner, apply lipstick, and top with Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Gloss. This gloss actually has “collagen and marine-based fillers” to make lips fuller.

Smooth Legs

Exfoliating your legs 1-2 times a week is the first step in achieving smooth skin. There are a million on the market, I have a DIY peppermint body scrub you can check out in this post. After exfoliation, shave your legs with a good shaving cream and razor. Finish with a super moisturizing body lotion such as Kiehls Creme De Corps

Ditto on looooving to hear what other ladies’ beauty secrets are – these are some of my favorite kinds of posts! Little trick I’ve learned for making those eyelashes look longer is to heat your eyelash curler for a few seconds with the blow-dryer. Works just like a curling iron! Thanks for sharing!

Great tip on heating up the eye lash curler! Love it!

You look absolutely flawless!
Have an amazing week!
