My sisters will tell you, I am not one to keep up with having a tanned body! I have always been a little fair and lazy about getting my summer glow on! But recently, I have been intrigued with the idea of sunless tanning. Why not have sexy bronzed skin without all the health risks of sun exposure or tanning beds?! Needless to say, I have fallen in love with a product that gives me naturally bronzed skin without all those risks!
I recently discovered a new brand of self tanners by watching one of my favorite Youtube Beauty Gurus, Jaclyn Hill. In one of her favorite videos, she introduced LovingTan, an Austrian brand of tanning mousses. Until a few weeks ago, they actually did not ship to the US. With shipping now available, I decided to take a plunge and try the brand!
I picked up the 2- hour express tanning mousse in the shade dark. And here are the reasons I am LOVING it!
1. It is streak free! With the few tanners I have tried, they have been difficult to work with. Hours later I will find patches that were not blended and streaks of not so cute color. But I have found that this products leaves me streak free!
2. The color is a natural bronzed glow. Common self tanner complaints are that they are too orange or too bronze with a green undertone. This little guy leaves you will such a beautiful golden bronzed glow that leaves you many shades darker than what you started with.
3. The smell is completely bearable. We all know that nasty smell of self tanner. YUCK! Although you cannot completely escape a slight smell of tanner, this product has a way more tolerable smell than most of the tanner products I have used. And of course when you wash it off after the two hour mark, the smell is gone!
4. It only takes 2 hours! I would like to think I am a patient person; however, some self tanners make a woman jump through hoops and need several hours of time to set into place. LovingTan only takes two hours, and you look like you have had a relaxing beach getaway!
5. The price is reasonable. Self tanners can be on the expensive side. But LovingTan’s price point is middle range for the quality of product it is. And if you are a gal that loves tanning beds or spray tans, you know that the price can quickly add up. Also, I believe that saving yourself the risk of sun exposure is well worth the price of $39.95.
HOW TO APPLY:
Prep Your Skin for the Product:
1. Wash your body with a shower gel.
2. Save your legs to create a smooth surface.
3. Exfoliate your entire body so that the tanner does not cling to any dry patches of skin.
4. Apply lotion or moisturizer to your knee caps, elbows, knuckles, and parts of your feet.
How to Use the Tanning Mousse:
1. Pump a small amount of product onto a tanning mit.
2. Using circular motions work the product into your skin, blending as you go.
3. I like to work on one body part at a time before moving onto the next section.
4. Allow 60 seconds before putting your clothes back on after applying the product.
