After what seems like a long hiatus from writing blog posts, I am back with a lovely little shoot from a lakeside cherry picnic. Quarantine for me, like many of us, left me with a lot of time to reflect. Often when we are in a motion of habits, we don’t take time to pause and think about the actions we are doing. Blog posts and photography shoots had been a part of my weekend tasks for YEARS. The restrictions of self-quarantine and being forced to stop shooting outdoors near public places for a time, completely took me out of a routine.
As things began to normalize, I found it really hard to get back into the groove of shooting pictures. And I think aside from a habit having been broken, I also found myself craving more meaning in my work. It just didn’t seem “right” to go back and shoot pretty pictures and pose in front of aesthetically pleasing places, just for outfit detail posts. This feeling and craving for more, began my entire rebranding process. Hence, Glam Life Living is gone, and Hannah Aileen McDonnell was born. I will be changing the name of my website to the later coming soon.
What I hope to capture more on this site is meaningful and intentional moments that help to feed the soul and foster self growth and development. There will be more family, more life, and more ME. Aesthetics are something that is near and dear to my hard. And I will always be drawn to beautiful things. And I hope to live a beautiful life and share that with you through my content.
So much of the content that I see scrolling through social media is not always one that makes me feel good. Whether is is self doubt, comparison, or FOMO, social media can sometimes be a less than pleasant place to be. I realized over the past few months, that I want my content to feed the soul and make you feel good as you scroll, read, or watch. Life really is short, and I do feel an obligation to live it in a meaningful way and show you the beauty in the world. I have completely changed my “About” page and rewritten my Manifesto, if you are interested in reading it to better understand the direction we are going.
And although I have not been posting as much written content on the site, I have been very active with video content on my YouTube channel in case you have missed that content. I am so excited for this new direction, and I believe these changes will not only be pleasant for you as the reader, but also for me as I focus my attention on the things that really matter in life. And creating a beautiful life of intention.
