Fall is a season that excites many of us and often inspires us to change a few things in our wardrobe. Aside from getting ALL the pumpkin things from Trader Joe’s, you might be lusting after a few pairs of booties, cozy sweaters, and maybe some fresh pairs of denim. I love fall as much as the next girl, but I initially found myself feeling very uninspired with the fall trends this season. I wanted my fall wardrobe to be more than the typical jeans, sweater, and cute scarf look. Although there is nothing wrong with this style, I just felt that I personally wanted to bring a fresher take on fall style that felt a little different.
So when it came to styling my new fall sweaters for the blog, I knew that I wanted to incorporate them into other categories aside from denim. Satin skirts have been EVERYWHERE recently, and I got the idea to style a few sweaters with a satin skirt for a dressier fall look. Satin skirts come in a variety of prints and designs, so today I wanted to bring you a few tips on how to style yours this season!
1. Pair it with Tall or Short Booties
Generally, you will want to pair taller boots with shorter skirts, and booties with longer dresses. But this is not a rule by any means. What is great about the midi length is that you can really get away with wearing any size boot. For a dressier or evening look, I would suggest pairing them with black heeled booties, like these Lilianna stiletto booties. But make the look more casual, or even stay a little warmer, in a knee length boot.
2. Combine It with a Chunky Oversized Sweater
You could definitely style it with one of your regular fitted sweaters, but I am loving the look of a chunky oversized style slightly tucked into the skirt. It gives a cozy, yet chic vibe that looks really fashionable. Cable knit styles are always a win this time of year, and I am loving this particular style from Princess Polly.
3. Pair it Back with a T Shirt and Sneakers
If you are looking for that effortless cool girl weekend vibe, you can pair back your silk skirt with a graphic t shirt and a chic pair of sneakers. This is an elevated errand running look or great for a casual day with friends. Chunky sneakers are a huge trend right now too, and I think the silk skirt would look so cute paired with them as well!
Satin and silk are such classic fabrics that you can feel good about adding into your closet. And with so many available now, you are sure to find one you adore!
