Is anyone else in shock that it is March? As you may have read in my last blog post, I have been easing back into content creation. But I am so glad to be back and feel ready to jump back in head first. The good news is that I feel like I have skipped over those dreaded transitional months and skipped straight to spring fashion, which is my favorite!

Now, I do realize it is quite cold in some of your areas still, so do not worry. We will try to still accommodate you as well. But I must admit that it is right about now that I am grateful to be in Florida, experiencing the beginnings of spring weather, as opposed to the daunting winter still.

For some, this marks the beginning of wedding season. I have begun to hear murmurs of wedding talks and celebrations, so I thought now would be good time to give you some inspiration if you are beginning to shop for any upcoming weddings or bridal showers.

With spring weddings, most of our minds float directly toward florals, draping ourselves in swirling flowers from head to toe. But how do you stand out in a crowd when EVERYONE is wearing a floral print? It is like Where is Waldo? #springedition! So if you are starting to browse for your upcoming events, keep these tips in mind so you don’t blend into the crowd!

1. Avoid Floral Chiffon Dresses

Chiffon is obviously a lovely and flowey fabric. But they are a dime a dozen when it comes to wedding wear. I’m not saying never wear it, but if you are purposefully trying to stand out, I would opt for something different. If you are even going to wear chiffon, opt for a solid color, pleat detailing or another differentiating factor. But there are so many other lovely fabric options such as satins, silks, laces, crepe, etc.

2. Look for a Unique Structure or Bold Detailing

Classic silhouettes are usually something I am fond of. But if you you are trying to make a statement, you will want to leave those hanging in your closet. If you want to stand out, ruffles, puff sleeves, unique necklines, and other sleeve styles are key details to look for. I love the ruffle hem detailing of this Likely dress, and think that is what really makes this spring floral dress stand out.

3. Don’t Wear Florals

If you are really concerned about being different. Just don’t wear florals! Now, I must admit that I do have a soft spot for those vintage floral prints, but you may be stronger than I! Think romantic fabrics in lovely pastel colors and you will stand out in a feminine and elegant way.
