This past week I had the pleasure of doing this gorgeous girl’s makeup. Being that it was right before Christmas, we wanted to go for a bold lip and a little shimmer. But if you are wanting some inspiration for a NYE makeup look, then this look would work beautifully as well.
Here are the stars of the show
* Begin by placing tape on both eyes, angling from the lower lash line to the brows. This will create a sharp line of shadow and really draw the eyes upward.
* Take a taupe colored shadow (Tease from Urban Decay Naked 2) with a blending brush and buff that into the crease as a transition color.
*Deepen the outer corner of the eye by placing the shade Pistol in a sideways V shape.
*Place the shimmery silver color (Verve) on the lid of the eye.
*Take an angled brow brush and take some dark colored shadow (Busted) and line the top lash line and extend it up the eye as a wing.
* Add mascara or false lashes.
* Prime the face with either a moisturizer or a primer. I used both. I really love a primer because it fills in the fine lines and pores on the face. For this look, I used the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.
* Apply Makeup Forever HD Foundation with a flat top kabuki brush. I used Sigma Beauty F80. I first stippled it all over the face and then I buffed it into her skin with circular motions.
* Take a concealer two shades lighter than the foundation and place it under the eyes and a little on the forehead and chin. You can either blend it in with your fingers or with a brush.
*Bronze the skin with an angled brush and Too Faced Bronzer in Milk Chocolate Soleil. Make sure the bronzer is not too orange in tone when the skin is fair.
* Apply a neutral colored blush ( Mac Gingerly) to the apples of the cheeks and then bring it up the cheek bone.
* Apply Nars Albatross ( a gold highlighter) to the high points of the cheeks and down the bridge of the nose.
Lips:
*I first lined her lips with Mac lip pencil in the shade Trust in Red
* Then I applied Gerard Cosmetics lipstick in Fire Engine, which is a true “Old Hollywood” red color. The lip pencil color under the lipstick did make the overall color more of a pink red.
* Top off the lips with a little red gloss only in the center of the lips. I used Gerard Cosmetics gloss in Candy Apple.
Enjoy!
