Sharp, rich, smooth, full of pigment… everything you could want in a man. Just kidding! All you could want in an eye shadow of course! I recently purchased a few new shadows and hopped on the Z Palette train. When the whole concept of making your own palette came into existence, I was thrilled because I felt like when I bought preconsturcted palettes at Sephora or Ulta, I would only use half the shades. Of course there are times when I get really excited about a certain palette (like Urban Decay Vice 3!), but many times I like picking up the colors I am missing or coveting. Last year, I purchased my first MAC palette and began choosing my colors and filling up the empty pan slots. My only problem with this adventure was that the empty pan slots were limited in number and once you placed the shadow in the slot, it was difficult to get out again. The Z palate allows for almost twice as many shadows in one pan and you can rearrange them whenever you please! Talk about no limits!
I first heard about Makeup Geek eye shadows from watching a few of my favorite beauty gurus on youtube. After a little research and trying them out for myself, I thought, “these shadows are so rich, smooth, pigmented, and easily blendable….so why am I spending $10-$15 dollars per shadow on other cosmetic brand eye shadows, when I could be spending $5.99 per color with Makeup Geek eye shadows.” Yes, I am serious….ONLY $5.99! CRAZY! There are currently over 60 colors of these magnetic eye shadow pans. You just pop them right into your Z palette and arrange them however you want! Here are some of the colors I purchased:
Top (Left to Right): Mercury, Moon Dust ,Nautica
Bottom (Left to Right): Mocha, Burlesque, Corrupt
Top (Left to Right): Coco Bear, Prom Night, Last Dance
Bottom (Left to Right):Barcelona Beach, Shimma Shimma, Graphite
Last Dance, Burlesque, Barcelona Beach, Coco Bear, Mocha, Corrupt, Nautica, Envy
Shimma Shimma, Prom Night, Moondust, Mercury, Graphite
If you could not already tell, I love these shadows! Considering their price, they are excellent quality. And in comparison to my MAC eye shadows, I really do not notice a difference. The only negative I have is that sixty color choices is just not enough! With brands like Make Up Forever and MAC you easily have 300 or more shadow colors. But being that Makeup Geek is new, I am sure more shades will develop. But until then, I am having fun playing with these beautiful shades!
