If you have a small frame, than you know the struggle that is involved in finding ponchos or large sweaters that do not overwhelm you. Taller figures have a little more flexibility when it comes to wearing oversized items. Petite ladies often find themselves swimming in massive amounts of fabric, which is not a cute look. But as I mentioned in yesterday’s post, where there is a will in fashion, there is a way.

Fall fashion has long embraced the poncho style. The creator of the trend was quite genius due to the fact that it is essentially like wearing a giant blanket. And fall crisp air often calls for a cozy soft ensemble as such. But the key to not be swallowed by the poncho look is to pick a style that varies in length. This particular poncho is shorter one one side verses the other. The large slits also allow for more leg to be seen, which in turn lengthens the body.

For my petite ladies, opt for a style that is shorter at one end. The longer in length, the more you will be overwhelmed. The opposite is true for my tall girls. This style will still work for you, but you also do not need to shy away from a lot of fabric. Simply turn the longer end to the front and you are able to rock this exact poncho as well!

How often are we left feeling like we cannot wear an item because it isn’t suited for our particular body type? As frustrating as shopping can be, it is also an exciting relief when you find something that can work for so many body types! Try out the poncho look. I promise that you will feel like you are snuggled up in a blanket, but with a chic twist!

Will you embrace the poncho look? Why or why not?
