What I’m Wearing
Top: Nordstrom // Skirt: Heartloom // Wedges: Soludos // Bag: Similar, Similar // Earrings: Francescas
Whether you are a dress gal or not, you must admit that sometimes skirts and dresses are the more comfortable choice in that brutal summer heat. Jeans can feel so sticky and restricting, especially if you live in particularly humid climate. Now that we are moving to Florida, I have started thinking about how my wardrobe will change. Thankfully I have always been impartial to skirts and dresses, so that transition won’t be all that difficult for me!
Skirts are a category of clothing that get neglected. Even as a dress lover, I find my collection of skirts is quite small. And I actually think a lot of it has to do with skirt length. Many of us are hesitant to squeeze into a mini skirt, yet sometimes a maxi seems like too much fabric. The midi skirt really is the perfect solution. And petite ladies, don’t turn away just yet! I’ll let you in on a secret to pulling them off even if you are 5’3 and under!
Petite Ladies Tips for Midi Skirts
So the secret to pulling off a midi skirt at all heights is this! You want the length to hit right above or below the widest part of your calf. It is when the skirt comes right mid calf that you can feel stumpy and short. Or the other solution is to wear a skirt that has a slit that shows some extra leg. This will elongate your body and make you appear taller as well! Have tiny calves? Feel free to do the opposite and have the skirt hit you right in the middle of your calf to make you look more muscular!
