It’s hard to believe it is already June! Even though today it doesn’t feel like summer (It’s pouring rain here in Connecticut), the hot weather and summer fun is upon us! I love to change up my makeup looks during this time of year and create more effortless looks with pops of color. During the Month of May, I purchased some new products as well as dug some out of their “beauty graves” to join me this season! So here are some of my favorite beauty products I used last month!

One day while wandering the aisles of Target, I noticed that NYX Cosmetics had a section in the beauty aisle! I was so excited because I had never seen NYX at Target before. I picked up two colors in the NYX Cosmetics Soft Matte Lip Creams. The top is the shade Antwerp and the bottom is Istanbul.

During the summer I love to have that JLO glow. Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm Cosmetics has been my “go to” highlighter this month. I love that champagne/ vanilla color on my cheekbones. Even when my skin is feeling dehydrated it makes me look fresh and glowing.

Nars Cosmetics came out with a whole new range of Duel Intensity Blushes. I picked up the shade Panic which is a nice fuchsia/coral shade that has a slight simmer to it.

I also discovered Clinique Cheek Pops this month. I must say I really want to pick more up! I grabbed the shade Fig, which is a burnt orange color that has a reddish pink tone to it that gives a gorgeous glow to the skin.  DSC_2135

I recently decided I do not like the Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer. I find it balls up and will actually roll off the skin. Frustrated I grabbed my NYX Angel Veil drug store primer and fell in love! For the price point, it does a great job at prepping the skin for foundation.

Lately I have also been keeping a hand cream on my nightstand to put on before I go to sleep. I really have been enjoying this HAND FOOD Hand Cream by Soap and Glory.

Also on my nightstand is my RoseBud Salve Lip Balm. I really love that it gives a glossy appearance to lips but it ACTUALLY HYDRATES the lip area. So many lip balms and chapesticks actually dry out the lips. This does not!

And if you have been reading my recent posts, you know I have been really interested in DIY skin care lately. I picked up this Tea Tree Oil from Whole Foods and I have been using it as a spot treatment for my breakouts. I actually really love this for treating acne! I apply it before bed and when I wake up, the blemish has gone down significantly!

Finally, this month I caved and purchase my first set of Velour Lashes! And let me just say, they are worth the hype! I decided to customize my own pair. I choose a 11mm flare style that has a slight criss cross effect. I get compliments on these lashes all the time. Many of my customers even think they are real! Although they are pricey, you can wear them up to 35 times.
