Matte Purple Eye

November 21, 2014

unnamed-6Thanksgiving is right around the corner! I wanted to create a look that was glamorous but still wearable for a Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. During the Holidays, most people want to look put together because it is during this time of year that they are able to spend time with relatives or friends that they have not seen in a while. This matte purple eye is great for a fun evening with loved ones!

Eyes:

Using the Lorac Pro Palette, place Taupe in the crease of the eye with a blending brush. Deepen the crease a little more using the shade Sable. Place Mauve on the lid. Create a winged out eye liner using an angled brow brush with the color espresso. Using eye shadow as eye liner creates a softer effect. To add a slight highlight, you can place the shade Champagne in the inner corner of the eye and on the brow bone. Coat your lashes with mascara or place a pair of false lashes on the lash line. I chose a romantic and full pair by House of Lashes called Sweet Romance.
unnamed-7Face:

My favorite way to apply foundation at the moment is by using a flat top kabuki brush by Sigma. It buffs your foundation into your skin. I like this because it prevents you foundation from just laying on top of the face. I used Smashbox Cosmetics Studio Skin Foundation. I contoured my skin using the Too Faced Bronzer. I applied it with an angled brush and moved it upwards in the hollows of my cheeks in circular motions. For blush, I put on Margin, a slightly shimmery nude blush on the apples of my cheeks. I then applied a gorgeous beige highlighter by Becca Cosmetics in the shade opal. I put this in the usual places: on my cheek bones, bridge of the nose and my cupids bow.

unnamed-8Lips:

I slightly over drew my top lip with NYX lip liner in peekaboo nude. For lipstick, I applied one of my favorite Mac lipsticks, Shy Girl. I topped it off with a shimmery gloss by NYX in perfect. unnamed-9And that completes this look!
