Little Black Dress on Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve in a Little Black dress #lbd #littleblackdress #gracekelly

Merry Christmas Eve! Wow did this season just fly by! I have really enjoyed bringing you so many festive Holiday looks and I am happy to bring you just two more Christmas related looks before we end this joyous season. Look out for one more post that will go up tomorrow on Christmas Day!

This is not the first time that I have talked about a classic LBD on the blog before, but I have had this image of Grace Kelly stuck in my mind for a while now and have been wanting to create a look inspired by the stunning dress she wore in this photo. For some reason, I believe that the little black dress has kind of lost her moment. She has been shoved in the back of the closet and thought of as boring or a last resort option for those occasions when you just have nothing else to wear. But I actually think that she can steal the show and be the life of the party if you pick the right one!

I know I have been sharing quite a few sequins and sparkly numbers, but you don’t have to be glittering head to toe to feel special on Christmas. A figure flattering classic black dress can give you a boost of confidence that you need during this time of year. One thing that I think is important to keep in mind when choosing your little black dress is to pick a style that is both timeless and chic. You don’t want to go for something that is too conservative that makes you feel unexciting. But you also want it to be something that can hang in your closet for years to come and be worn numerous different ways.

If you were not able to pick up a new dress this season, maybe this post can inspire you to dress up your little black dress that is hanging in your closet. You would be surprised what some jewelry, a red lip, and killer pair of heels can do to a black dress. But if you are looking to splurge on a black dress, I highly recommend this one! You should DEFINITELY size up though. I usually wear a 0 and I choose a 2 in this style. So I would recommend going up 1-2 sizes from your usual dress size.  If you were looking for a more budget friendly option under $150, this Eliza J dress is super similar.

I hope you have a beautiful and joyful Christmas Eve. If you have time tomorrow, I would love for you to stop back to see another post!
