What I’m Wearing
Life has been a little crazy over here! I had some photos that we had shot in Dallas before we moved and wanted to take the opportunity to update you on what has been going on. We moved into our new Florida home this past Friday. For those of you who might have missed the We Bought a House post, I’ll catch you up quickly. After living in Dallas for a year, it was just getting to difficult to be away from family. We had originally moved to Texas for my husband to pursue a new role in his current position. But he ended up getting promoted and having the opportunity to travel and work remotely. This meant it no longer matter where we lived!
So how has life been since the move? Well crazy as you would expect! We have been nonstop unpacking boxes, changing out light fixtures, updating hardware, and we are close to painting! Thankfully, I am down to my last few boxes to unpack and can really focus my attention on the fun part: decorating!
What is Your Decor Style?
I would consider my style to be a mix of Traditional/ Georgian with a modern flare. I love mixing old and new pieces. So you will see a combination of contemporary items from sites like Wayfair as well as some antique treasures.
What Paint Colors are You Planning on Using?
For the formal living room, we plan on painting it Antique Rose by Magnolia Home, as well as, wallpapering one wall. For the kitchen and family room, we are going with Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore with two accent walls in Pale Smoke by Benjamin Moore. We decided to paint our bedroom in Pale Smoke as well. I really want to wallpaper the entire guest room in a vintage inspired floral, but we shall see if the husband allows it! Right now little Oliver’s room is a neural cream, but we are undecided if we will paint it or not as it does fit a lot of his furniture. And finally, I would like to wallpaper some walls of our master bathroom. And have not decided what color to use for the guest bathroom.
Where Do You Like to Shop for Home Decor?
For my modern items, I love Wayfair and Homegoods. I just feel like Wayfair has so many options that you are sure to find something that you love. Homegoods is great to fill in the gaps of your furniture and decor needs. They are awesome for little trinkets as well. As for the more traditional items, I LOVE a good antique store. And I have even found some amazing items on Facebook Marketplace as well.
Will You Be Sharing the Process?
There is a part of me that wants to wait and show you finished rooms. But I know that I always hated having to wait to see the final product of my favorite bloggers. So make sure you are following me on Instagram and watch my stories to see some behind the scenes of the the projects we are working on.
