One of the great arguments of spending is the question of if it is better to buy several items at a lower cost or one item of great value. As a kid, I would take my hard earned money from babysitting and try to buy as many items as I could with the cash I had. This mentality carried on into adult life until recent years. There are moments when I want to get the most for my money, but then there are times when I want to spend it all in one place. As we get older, we start to focus on building a life. And with that comes building a wardrobe of classic pieces. When I look at my closet, I see many items that will fade with the trends. So I have made a decision to start working toward a more timeless wardrobe. One of my recent additions has been this gorgeous faux suede jacket.
Layering the clothes in your closet is an excellent way to create multiple looks with minimal items. Jackets are a key piece in mastering the layered look. I will be honest and say I do not own enough in my closet. But I can definitely say that will be changing soon because I love the way this jacket can be thrown over a dress, sweater, or top and completely change the feel.
The beauty in a jacket is that it can take you into the next few years with minimal signs of wear if it is taken care of correctly. Basically, don’t throw it in the back in the trunk after blog pictures and let the stroller sit on top of it #momlife. But if you do invest in the future of your wardrobe, it will pay you back in full. Sometimes choosing one item at a higher price point ends up being the better choice in the long run. Wardrobe staples are almost always worth the investment.
What are some of your favorite wardrobe staples?
