“Give a women the right lipstick, and she can conquer the world!”
Red lips have been a staple for women since the Egyptians! Cleopatra herself was said to crush insects to achieve that perfect pout. Throughout time, red lips have been a sign of feminism and success. Red lips make a woman appear powerful and sexy. But I also know that the art of applying that gorgeous shade of red can be a quite difficult road. But with these tips and tricks, I hope to make your lipstick application much easier!
Step by Step Instructions on How to Apply Red Lipstick:
Step One: Exfoliate your lips. Do this by grabbing a small towel and gently rub it against your lips to remove dry patches. If necessary, wet the towel prior to exfoliation.
Step Two: Moisturize. Apply a lip balm to your lips to lock in moisture and to ensure that the lipstick does not cling to the dry areas of your mouth.
Step Three: Rub off any excess lip balm.
Step Four: Grab a lip liner that is a similar shade of red as the lipstick you are going to apply. Note: Make sure it is relatively sharp so that the line is crisp.
Step Five: Outline your lips with the lip pencil starting on the upper lip. Create an “M” shape on your upper lip. Trace the bottom lip as normal.
Step Six: Fill in the entire lip area with that same lip pencil. 
Step Seven: Grab your favorite red lipstick (Mine is Mac Cosmetics Ruby Woo) and apply it all over the lips, keeping it within the shape we drew with the lip liner.
Optional: If necessary you can grab your lip pencil again to smooth out any harsh edges. Apply another layer of lip balm if the lip area feels dry.
