With chaos swirling around us, it can be so easy to forget to stop and have a little fun. Most of us are in panic mode now that Christmas is a week away. I was reflecting on the rest of the items that I needed to complete and realized that I only had one day off before Christmas Day. This realization made me sink a little. I think I felt a little sad because I have been so busy this season that I had forgotten to ENJOY the season. I started to think about all of the “Christmasy” activities I have neglected to take part of and I decided that I needed to take matters into my own hands!
So if you are in the same boat as me and have yet to do some fun Holiday activities, I have rounded up a few things that you can do that won’t take up too much of your precious time but will still bring you joyful anticipation!
Holiday Activities to Do Before Christmas
1. Hunt for the Perfect Hot Chocolate
I actually looked up the best hot cocoa places in Dallas and plan on doing a few taste testing of my own this week. You can even stop on your way to work to pick up a delicious treat if you are in a hurry! Or better yet, try out a few Pinterest recipes and make your own!
I know watching a festive movie is an obvious choice, but why not get cozy and knock out some gift wrapping while you are at it. You can even make a night out if it by setting up the ambiance and making it feel special.
3. Take a Christmas Lights Drive
Hop in the car with your family or friends in your favorite Christmas pjs and drive around to all of your local neighborhoods while blasting some Holiday music. Make a game out of it and have the participants rate their favorites!
4. Have a Gingerbread House Making Contest
My family and I have added this tradition in the recent years and it is such a fun way to spend an evening. All ages enjoy doing this delicious activity!
5. Research Christmas Events in Your Local Area
You would be surprised how many exciting events are constantly going on right under your nose! Make an effort to find out what ways your community is doing to celebrate Christmas and set a date to attend one of the events!
