Foundation is one of my favorite things to try in the beauty world. Its just one of those products where even though you may have one you like, you are always searching for the next best thing! I love flawless looking skin. We all have our skin insecurities and problem areas, but foundation is just that product that immediately lifts a woman’s confidence level.

Over the past few weeks, I have been trying out the Glo Minerals Luxe Liquid Foundation. I must say, I LOVE it!

Here is how the website describes the foundation:

  •  Harness the light-refracting power of diamonds to bend light for a smooth, ageless complexion.

  • Formulated with light-diffusing diamond powder

  • Specialized moisturizing agents to deliver a flawless, youthful radiance

  • Sheer to full coverage that is easily buildable

  • Great for all skin types except excessively oil

  • Delivers a semi-dewy finish

  • Broad spectrum UV protection

Color Choice: I chose the color naturelle, which is a warm toned shade that is on the lighter end of the spectrum. The color matched me perfectly! What is interesting about the formula is that when it is first applied, it seems a little too light for my complexion. But once I buff it into the skin, it almost changes colors to match my skin color perfectly. This being said, I think that this tone would work wonderfully on a number of different skin tones as well.

Formula, Coverage, and Texture: The consistancy of the foundation is thin and slightly runny. I actually like this about the product because just one pump can cover almost my entire face! It also very blendable and a little product can be used to cover a large canvas. I also am very impressed with how well it conceals redness and discoloration. I would say that it is a medium to full coverage foundation.

Finish: The foundation claims to be a “slightly-dewy finish,” however, I would actually disagree. I think it dries matte and the texture looks very natural in all lighting. I noticed that in the sunlight it really does refract light and gives an iridescence. So perhaps that is what they mean when they say, “dewy.” A lot of women’s biggest fear with foundations is that they will have the “cake face” look. You will not have this issue with the Luxe Liquid Foundation. Even when I build up the coverage, it still looks natural and not “cakey.”

Application: When I go to apply this product, I like to use my Sigma F80 flat top kabuki brush. First I pump the product onto the back of my hand, and then I dip my flat top brush into the foundation. From there, I will stippled it over my face and then buff it in by using circular motions. Then I will do either a half a pump or another full pump and just apply it to the areas of my face where I want a little more coverage.

Overall Feelings: I really LOVE this product. This is the first foundation in a long time that I am head over heels about. I love how well it covers my imperfections without looking like I am wearing a “mask.” I also enjoy how I can build the coverage to more sheer or full depending on the amount of product I use. The only thing that I would advise is that if you have serious dry patches of skin, you should exfoliate your skin prior to application.
