The general consensus of the start of 2019 has been slow. It seems like I am not the only one to get moving on the resolutions and goals that I have set for myself for 2019. If you still haven’t written your resolutions, you can check out my last blog post on how I write mine, here. Maybe it has been the dreary and rainy weather in Dallas, but I have struggled to get excited about the New Year. I have been brainstorming ways to motivate myself to get started and I realized that in order to feel really motivated about starting on goals, I have to be excited. I thought back to the time that I created a vision board and remembered what life and joy it brought to look at photos of my aspirations on a daily basis.
So I decided that I am going to make an evening out of creating a vision board for 2019! If you have never created one, I actually have an entire blog post breaking down the process with photos, here. I am going to try to create mine tonight, so keep your eyes out on my Instagram stories, to get a peak at mine! But I really do believe in the power of visuals. Simply changing your iPhone Screensaver to be one of your goals for the New Year can put your mind in the mental space to get motivated and excited.
So the answer to getting movtivated and excited about 2019 is to surround yourself with visual reminders of your goals. Maybe you even print out a picture of that bikini body you have been dying to have. Post it on your refrigerator! If you are constantly being reminded by your goals, you are more likely to make a step in the direction of following them.
