Game Changing Makeup Items

November 9, 2017

luxury makeup products, expensive makeup, game changing makeup, high end beauty makeup

The Holidays are right around the corner, and that means it is mega sale time! Around this time of year, Sephora does their 20% sale. It is the perfect time to test out new products or splurge on items you would usually never treat yourself to. The VIB Rouge Sale was last weekend, but November 10-15th is the VIB sale. I believe rouge members also have access to the sale with the code 20FORVIB. Sephora only offers a discount twice a year, so stock up on your favorite items while the sale is in session!

Since the sale is going on now, I thought it would be a great opportunity to share some of the products I have picked up recently. As I have gotten older, I have started to develop a less is more attitude. I have transitioned from wanting to have products for the sake of having them, to wanting a smaller collection of makeup that makes me excited to get ready in the morning. We all know how chaotic that time of day can be and I do believe that little luxuries can bring a joy to your tired morning. I have begun to purchase fewer items, but at a higher price tag. These products might be on the pricer side, but I do stand by them and feel that they actually make a difference in your makeup game! So here are a few of the makeup items I have picked up recently that have quickly become game changers in my everyday makeup routine.

1. Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder

I have been die hard over my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder for years now. But I have been loving that this Charlotte Tilbury product adds just a little more coverage and truly does add an airbrush effect to your skin.

2. YSL All Hours Foundation

I recently mentioned this foundation in my post 6 Luxury Beauty Products Worth the Price Tag. I am so obsessed with this product! I really love how high coverage it is without being cakey or drying.

3. Guerlain L’Or Primer

3. Contining on the topic of the perfect base, I have been using the Guerlain L’Or Primer and have actually noticed a difference in the way my foundation applies and wears throughout the day. It is actually meant for more mature skin because the skin care benefit of lifting, but I am using it anyway!

4. Dior Highlighter in Nude Glow

It has now become socially acceptable to glow like a disco ball on a daily basis. But I decided I wanted a highlighter that was a little less over the top for everyday use. I found the Dior highlighters to be a little less glittery than the Becca Shimmering Skin perfecters. It is just a really beautiful and well made highlighter for a more every day look.

5. Stila Eye Liner and Mascara

Switching from a pot gel eye liner to a liquid liner was the best thing I have done for my eye makeup routine. This liner really lasts all day and stays black! And the wand on the mascara is my favorite for achieving long, dramatic lashes.

6. YSL Lip Stain

I actually think that the luxury brands have been uping their game dramatically over the past few months. They have made a huge leap in the world of liquid lipsticks. They finally have mastered the long lasting color with a nondrying formula. This is definitely the most comfortable lip stain I have tried. The Dior ones are definitely more pigmented and another favorite, but these feel almost none existent on the lips.
