Crisp air, pumpkin lattes, gorgeous leaves falling in their array of warm colors, it’s officially fall. I always feel like there is a fresh start with the fall season. Maybe it is just because it was ingrained in me as a child; fall means working hard, setting goals, and moving onto a new stage in your life (or grade as a kid). With a new season comes new products, new makeup looks, and old favorites.

Today I wanted to share with you a few of my go to products for fall. I am sure I will pick up a few new things to try this season, but for now these are the things I have been grabbing to create a more autumn inspired look.

Typically in the summer time, you strive for minimal makeup, dewy looks, and bright colors. As the colder weather approaches, I like to switch up my foundation and lip combinations.

Face: In the summer, I opt for a sheerer foundation or BB cream. This summer I was loving my Marc Jacobs light weight foundation. But now, I like a little more coverage because my skin typically starts to act up in the colder weather. I have switched back to my Make Up Forever HD foundation. I really enjoy this foundation because it has a very natural look to it, not cakey or overly dewy. It is actually more of a matte finish foundation, which is great for oily or combination skin. It is also oil -free, which I love because it does not break me out or clog my pores. As for concealer, I have an obsession with MAC cosmetics pro longwear concealer. This concealer is amazing at covering my dark circles and also dries nicely and does not leave that shinny finish. Those of you who have dry skin should be a little careful of this concealer; however, because it may be SLIGHTLY drying. I tend to have an under eye area that can get dry, but this concealer is great on me and does not settle in my fine lines.  With my blush, I like more warm toned colors, I steer away from those bright pinks and corals that are great in the summer, and I move toward the dusty rose, berry, and brown toned blushes. I have been enjoying cabana boy by the Balm cosmetics. The color is between a dusty rose and plum color. Perfect for warming up the checks in the fall season. The other blush I have been loving is my NYX cosmetics blush in the color Terra Cotta, a shimmery bronzy glow color. DSC_1875

As for those little puckers, I love reds and berry colors for fall! YSL glossy stain in number 13, Rose Tempura  is a beautiful red/pink color that reminds me of a raspberry. The stain is super long- wearing. Click here for more on this particular lip color. I also love deep wine colors for this season. Its so easy to just pop on a darker red color and go really minimal on the eyes. It enables you to look very fashion forward with minimal effort. My go to lipstick for this dark red color is Wine (sinner) by Lipstick Queen. It is very opaque  and matte. This is also a very long wearing color. However, you will need moisturized lips before applying this color.  And finally for that typical fall purple shade, I love the classic MAC rebel.

And finally onto the eye shadows! I just love warm toned shades in general, so that makes autumn makeup looks my favorite. I love the brown colors as well as my golds and reds. I picked out a few of my Makeup Geek eye shadows that are great for this season. I chose a dark blue color called Nautica, a green color named Envy, a burgundy called Burlesque, and a silver/taupe color named Moondust. In the second picture, I have some more wearable shadows named Coco Bear, the reddish brown, Mocha (the dark brown), Shimma Shimma (the cream) and Corrupt (the black). Look out for this Friday’s makeup look, where I will be using some of my Fall “go to” products!
