I think we all start to get a little giddy as this time of year approaches. We begin staring into our closets longingly craving our fall sweaters and booties. Slowly but surely, the weather will make its way to that adored crisp fall air.
Woman are starting to ask those questions of what to wear or what is trending this year. I have noticed this especially in my day job as a stylist. We want to know what to wear. I have done two trend reports that you can read here and here if you are little late to find out what will be hot this season. Today, I wanted to touch a little about a few fabrics that will be all the rage. We often talk so much about overall vibes and trends, but many of us don’t even know the first thing on making that into a reality in our wardrobe.
Fabrics play such a crucial part in our wardrobe. So how do you know which ones you need this year? Well, I got you covered. But I want to focus on a few overall fashion trends this season and I will even break down what fabrics work best for each trend. So let’s begin!
New Victorian Style
Any fabric that has feminine detailing will play an excellent role in portraying the trend. Think bows, golden buttons, and shirt fronts. The fabric to note is definitely lace.
80s
This one is pretty easy. You will want your leather, sequins, silk, and chiffon fabrics to nail this one on the head.
Futuristic Motifs
Space cowboy was a big hit on the runways. Think stylish alien. The glossier and shiner the fabrics, the better!
Western
To knock this cowboy look out of the park, or should I say out of the wild west, you will want suede and patchwork fabrics.
The texture of your clothing is important. You want to try and diversify it as much as possible. The last thing you want is a wardrobe full of only chiffons or cotton fabrics. Step outside your comfort zone this season and try something new and fun!
