And just like that the holidays are upon us. Like it or not, Thanksgiving is two weeks away. Whether you are a no decorations before Thanksgiving gal or are already putting up your tree the day after Halloween, the season comes with a wind of preparation. It is always one event after the other, and always so much to do in so little time. We all want to look chic and put together, but also know there is lots of time spent on our feet, hours spent in the kitchen, and we are always playing the role of “hostess with the mostest.” The point is that I know how important it is to take comfortability into account when choosing your holiday wear for this season.

In years past, I have brought up the conversation of how different family traditions are throughout the holiday events. Each family has their own way of doing things, and even the way you dress for the occasion is almost a tradition in itself. Some families believe in comfort and prepare to indulge in the feasts in an article of clothing that allows for the most expansion, such as sweatpants. While others prefer to treat it as a fancier moment and come to the table dressed to the nines. Whatever your tradition is, I have found a style trend that can work for you no matter how you celebrate.

Velvet Fabric

Whether it is a statement dress, romantic blouse, casual top, or elegant skirt, you can rock a lovely velvet fabric in any number of these items. For casual “get togethers”, pair a velvet blouse with a pair of jeans and boots. Or go full holiday in a rich green velvet that matches the color of the champagne bottle you are bringing to the party. This fabric always feels festive, but also has as soft and comfortable feel. Which we know is important for packing in all of that delicious food!

How are you planning on celebrating this Thanksgiving? We are headed to St. Augustine to spend time with some family, and we are excited to see loved ones and explore some of the area!

Thanks so much for reading today’s post.
