Current Makeup Obsessions

April 25, 2016

My Current Makeup ObsessionsI have officially decided that Spring Time Makeup is my favorite. I have been so into these fresh faced looks and bold and bright colors. I really believe that someone’s makeup can actually say a lot about a person. Maybe I am crazy, but I feel like you can tell if someone is an introvert or an extrovert simply by the color of their lipstick!

I have recently broken out of my makeup rut and started trying a few new products. Its been a hot minute since I have had a Sephora haul [ I mean I really do deserve a metal for that though… 😉 ] and I finally got the urge to try some new goodies.

It has started to get pretty darn hot here in Vegas. We are talking 90 degree weather already, so I haven’t been too thrilled about throwing on a whole lot of makeup in the morning. I have enjoyed creating more glowing and girly looks instead of creating dramatic or heavy eye looks.

So without further introduction here are some of my current makeup obsessions!

Marc Jacobs Remarable Foundation |Current Makeup Obessions|

1. Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Foundation

This might come as a shock for a few of you because I have been “die hard” for the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation for about 7 months straight. But I recently decided to give the Marc Jacobs foundation a try and I just happened to love it! It is a full coverage foundation that has incredible pigmentation. It is the perfect foundation for those who like a matte finish or struggle with discoloration, acne, or other skin issues. Just a tiny amount [ I actually mean TINY] will give a complete full coverage.

YSL Lipsticks |Current Makeup Obsessions|

2. YSL Lipsticks

Before you virtually try to stab me for recommending a ridiculously expensive lipstick, let me defend myself! It has been a tradition of mine to ask for a new YSL lipstick for my birthday or special occasion. Not only is the packaging as luxurious as the Queen of England’s vanity, but the formula is also a dream! They are so hydrating and their color selection is stunning. They are both classic and beautiful for the Spring and Summer Months.

Anastasia Brow Definer |Current Makeup Obsessions|

3. Anastasia Brow Definer

I absolutely hated this the first few times I tried it! A few people encouraged me to give it a little more time before I gave up and now I love it! I previously used the Anastasia Brow Wiz and it was difficult to make the switch a first. But now that I am used to it, I love how quick and easy this tool makes it to fill in your brows. It is also so much easier to get the shape you want.

Concealers |Current Makeup Obsessions|

4. Bobbi Brown Color Corrector

Ever since I attended makeup school, I have been into color correcting my under eye area. But I did get a little lazy over the past few months and stopped doing it for a while. When I picked this product back up again, I was like “WHY, WHY did I stop using you!” When you have darkness under your eyes, you should use a shade of peach that is complimentary to your skin tone. Then apply a shade of concealer that is a shade or two lighter than your skin tone and your darkness will disappear!

5. Nars Radient Creamy Concealer in Custard

This product has been so hyped up over the past few years. I always had other concealers that I used and loved and never really felt the need to give into the all the hype. But recently I ran out of my Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer and purchased the Nars concealer instead. I love them both, but I reason I am digging the Nars one is actually because of the coloring. The Urban Decay can tend to be a little too pink in color. And although that can help with color correction, I felt that it wasn’t complimenting my foundation shade as well. The Nars concealer in custard is a more yellow toned concealer and seems to be doing well at brightening the under eye as well as hiding any darkness.

Sally B's Skin Yummies Luxury Mineral Foundation |Current Makeup Obsessions|

6. Sally B’s Skin Yummies Luxury Mineral Foundation

Some days it is nice to wear very mineral makeup. I love to allow my skin to have “days off” if you will. It is important to let your skin breath to prevent your pores from getting overloaded, which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. On those days I have been enjoying mineral makeup. This brand is awesome because it free of parabens and other toxic ingredients. So it won’t irritate your skin or clog your pores!

I am excited to try some more new makeup this summer. I have heard of some pretty amazing products that will be coming out soon and I am ready to play! Have you tried any new products for the warmer months that you are obsessing over?!
