How to Hair for Color Treated Hair. Want to know how to keep your blonde looking good as long as possible? Follow these steps.

It’s been a hot minute since I have done any beauty related posts. And the honest truth is that I haven’t really been buying any new makeup or products. I had so many things on backup that I felt like I needed to use up what I had before I got some new goodies. But recently, I have changed up my routine and have had the chance to try some new amazing products. These babies have really made a difference in my hair. Being a blonde, I have made some bad mistakes. But over time, I have found some products that work really well for prolonging my color for as long as possible. Also at the end of this post is a quick one minute video on how I blow dry my hair! So be sure to watch that at the end.

1. Shampoo and Conditioner

I have been a shampoo and conditioner snob for quite some time now. I don’t want sulfates or other ingredients that will dry out my hair. And it has to do more than simply clean and smell pretty. Finding a good shampoo and conditioner is the number one rule when it comes to maintaining your color for as long as possible. I have been obsessed with the Pureology Hydrate Sheer Shampoo and the Hydrate Sheer Conditioner lately.

2. Purple Shampoo for Blondes

If you are a blonde or have any kind of strong blonde highlights in your hair, I highly recommend adding a purple shampoo into your routine. I use mine about every other wash to cancel out any brassy tones. This is seriously a lifesaver. One of my favorites for this is the dp HUE brand.

3. Blow Dry Protection

It took me a while to realize that a quality blow dryer is worth the investment. A nice blowdryer    can save your hair from a lot of damage. I picked up this T3 Compact Dryer last Black Friday and I am not only obsessed with the color, but also it’s effectiveness. The Macadamia Blow Dryer Lotion has also been an awesome addition into blow dry routine, and I love how it not only heat protects, but it also tames.

4. Prevent Damage

Prevention is always better than correction. Keeping styling to a minimum, staying out the sun, and washing less frequently are just a couple of ways to keep your hair looking it’s best.
