Shop the Tree
This year we decided to put up the Christmas Tree extra early. As you might have seen in my last blog post, The Best Places to Buy Christmas Ornaments, we went for a burgundy, pink, and mint theme this year. I was highly inspired by the Victorian Gala section of the At Home Store this year. We ended up getting this flocked Christmas Tree from Lowes last year after the lights went out on our old one. And I have to say it blows our old Christmas Tree out of the water.
I love how the burgundy and dusty pink velvet ornaments really pop out and even compliment our pink sofa! I thought I would round up a few tips and the process of how we decorated our tree this year!
Tree Decorating Process
- Fluff tree section by section before adding the next layer.
- Choose one color of the small ball ornaments and disperse evenly across the tree. We started with white.
- Continue choosing one color at a time and evenly distribute it in the tree. We then did mint, followed by burgundy, then the velvet pink.
- Next add the larger ball ornaments and evenly distribute.
- Then add the speciality ornaments or collectables and focus them on the front part of the tree that guests are most likely to see.
- Finish with the large add ons such as flowers, ribbons, bows, etc.
- Add the angel and you are done!
When do you usually put up your tree, before or after Thanksgiving?
