Once upon a time there was a girl who only wore nude colored lipsticks because she thought it was more mature and grown up. Then one day, she woke up and said, “What the hell! I like bold colors and I am going to wear them!” So from that day forward, she put her doubts behind her and started to live a little bolder. Is it just me or does that last line sound like a Pinterest quote?!
The truth is bolder really is better! I know it can be so intimidating to step outside your makeup comfort zone and try something new. But no matter your age, a brighter color really can enlighten your whole complexion and make you look youthful and alive. Lipstick is such an easy way to take a risk and live more freely. And seriously, what is the worst that is going to happen? The color does’t flattered you for ONE DAY?!
Once at work, I decided to try a really ugly purple shade. The best way to describe the color is that of a dead fish. I am being dead serious! But I wore it anyway and stuck it out for the whole day. I got a lot of people telling me it was not flattering, and I agreed. But there was something so empowering just wearing the lipstick anyway and not caring whether or not people liked it.
The point is it isn’t going to kill you to try something different. Whether it is lipstick, a new hobby, a blind date, or new job, it is a good thing to step outside of our realm of comfortably. People do not become successful by watching their lives fly ideally by. And we do not break through a new level in our beauty routine without trying a few new products here and there!

*Quick note about M.A.C Silly and Long Legged and Fabulous lipsticks. They are both 30 percent off right now at M.A.C stores! The only issue I have found with them is that they can emphasizes dry lips and you need to apply several layers for it to show up completely opaque.
