Long gone are the days when blazers were only meant for office wear and important meetings. Although they are a staple in the professional wardrobe, they can also be an item that you can walk from cubicle to bar rather effortlessly. Menswear style fashion has been around every since Coco Chanel started the trend herself back in the 1920s. A classic black blazer might not be what you typically reach for when heading out for a night out, but this this season’s plaid trend may have you reconsidering your usual vibe.
The plaid blazer trend has been one of the biggest style trends of the season. The oversized fit gives the piece a more relaxed, chic vibe making you look more effortless and less office ready. And the velvet collar detailing makes the blazer even more fashion forward! But if you did want to transition this look to be work appropriate, just add tights or a skinny leg trouser. I actually wore this look this past weekend and then transitioned it to be work appropriate on Monday.
One of my goals this season was to add more jackets and outerwear pieces to my wardrobe. This plaid number has made a great addition to my blazer family. And honestly you can’t go wrong taking a note from Chanel’s book with some menswear styling! Plus, all this plaid gives me the itch to watch Clueless again. Anyone with me? We better up our style game or Cher might come after us calling us a “fashion victim or emsemble-y challenged!”
That’s it for today! Thanks for reading loves!
