In today’s age of dressing, we usually fall on one end or another of the spectrum. When getting dressed in the morning, so many of us either “do the works” or look like we are going to”workout.” We bring our “A” game when we need to, otherwise we opt for leggings and sneakers to get us through our daily routine. While there is no problem with this, I believe that the reason so many of us end up gravitating toward workout gear is because we feel comfortable in it. Comfort is such an important aspect to choosing our clothing. But I have found that we have forgotten that we can look more casual while keeping our comfort in tact!
Because of my job, I have been forced to wear jeans more than I have in years. But I got so tired of pairing them with sneakers and low key top. I started looking for ways to bring a more stylish touch to denim that would also be appropriate for being on my feet all day. I moved my gaze to my favorite view when looking for inspiration: old movies. This weekend I binged on old Audrey movies and it was the perfect fashion inspiration that I was looking for!
Audrey is known for her effortless and chic style. She never tried too hard and always preferred to be under dressed as opposed to over. One pairing we consistently see her in are her iconic ballet flats and cropped pants. I picked up these cropped flare jeans at the end of summer and they are now on sale for $29! And instead of your usual sneaker, try going back to the tried and true ballet flat! When you are in doubt as to how to dress cute while being comfortable, think of our dear Audrey!
Who is your style icon? Do you have an old Hollywood favorite star or a modern muse? Tell me by leaving me a message!
Thanks as always for reading!
