Dress: ASOS, On Sale! Heels: Sam Edelman Circus Bag: Urban Outfitters, Even Nicer Hat: Similar Watch: Michael Kors
Have you ever had a shopping experience where you fall in love with a dress and pay full price for it, only for it to go on sale a week or two later! I feel like this has been happening to me quite often recently! But lucky for you, you get a steal on an item I paid too much for! This Asos dress for example, is one that trapped me in it’s game. It recently went on sale for $34.50, when I think I paid between $60-80 for it!
A few details that I enjoy about this piece are the cold shoulder puffed sleeves. “Puffed sleeves are so fashionable now. It would give me such a thrill, Marilla, just to wear a dress with puffed sleeves.” Name that movie in the comment section! I also like that this dress has some extra dimension with the tiered layers. And lastly, the little draw strings under the bust and on the sleeves add even more of a feminine touch.
In a dramatic and strange sense, this look makes me feel like I am living in a modern Little House in the Prairie type setting where I am enjoying my best and simpler life. Okay over the top, I get it. I just have found these shorter and tighter styles, that have been so popular with celebrities like the Kardashians, to take away from the mystery and femininity that the female body has. Celebrating your womanhood doesn’t have to mean posing nude or showing extra skin. Am I preaching to the choir? Probably.
Two things to take away from this post. 1. Being stylish doesn’t have to cost you a fortune. This whole look is super affordable. 2. Don’t be afraid of more traditional styles. They are not going to make you look “old” or “boring.” As long as you style the piece with great accessories or a more modern hair and makeup look, you will be looking classy and fabulous!
Life isn’t always perfect, but your outfit can be! #wordsofwisdom
