With the mini skirt making its debut again, I find myself having some serious 90s flashbacks. Even though I was young during that time, I still remember wearing the trend as often as I could. Anyone remember when Hilary Duff had a clothing line at Target? I was all about that life! And not to mention iconic movies like Clueless or tv shows like Friends parading their short skirts in every scene. Maybe it is still the child in me, but when I wear a mini skirt it changes my confidence level immediately.

But mini skirts can often cause an area of concern. Is too short or unflattering? Or maybe you are worried of showing too much skin. Today I am addressing some top concerns that you might have with wearing the trend and give you some suggestions on how to fix it! Because let’s face it, who doesn’t want to feel like Rachel Green when walking out the door for the day?!

Concern: I am tall and I feel like the mini skirt allows for too much bare leg.

Suggestion: Instead of a heeled bootie or flat, pair the style with an over the knee boot so their is less leg on display.

Concern: I am self-conscious of my thighs and am worried that the shirt makes my legs look “stumpy.”

Suggestion: Pick a style that has more of an “A Line” shape. Stray away from more boxy styles.

Concern: I want to tuck tops and sweaters in the skirt, but I find that it looks bunchy and weird.

Suggestion: Go one size up from your usual size. This will give you a little more room to tuck your tops inside!

Concern: What if this trend only lasts a season and I waste my money on a fading style?

Suggestion: Choose a skirt in a tan or black shade. Prints are usually the thing that can date an item to a specific season. If you go for something neutral, you will be able to get away with wearing it for seasons to come.
