How to Dress Up a T Shirt

Some days we want the best of both worlds. To be both comfy and cute! We are all familiar with those moments where we stare in our closet, eyeing our yoga pants, deliberating
whether or not we are going to bum it today. Often we opt out of “looking cute” because we still want to feel like we can move freely and comfortably. But the truth is you don’t always have to sacrifice! Today I am sharing my tips on how to dress up a tee. #problemsolved

1. Go for a Graphic Tee

As I talked about in my blog post 3 Tips on Mastering Effortless Style, there is obviously a difference between sporting your high school soccer t shirt and wearing a cute graphic tee. Graphic tees are always fun because you can tailor them to your personality. I always feel more flirty and fun when I am wearing a tee with a cute saying on it. I have been eyeing this one recently.

2. Say “No” to Jeans

Obviously you can still look cute and feel comfy in a t shirt and jeans. But if you want to “dress it up” than I would suggest pairing it with a fun skirt or pair of patterned shorts. I recently paired a cute graphic tee with a pair of sequins shorts on Instagram and it was so cute!

3. Pile on the Accessories

A statement necklace is always adorable paired with a graphic tee. It immediately takes it from normal to chic. In these photos, I wore fake diamond teardrop earrings to add a touch of elegance.

4. Um, Heels.. DUH! 

There is something about putting on a pair of high heels that makes you feel dressed up and feminine. You could seriously wear heels in a trash bag and still look chic! Don’t be intimated though, the heels don’t have to be high. I decided on kitten heels for this look.
