Hello There!
It has been a whole week since I have posted a blog and I really hate it when that happens. And there is no one else to blame but myself. We can all be guilty of allowing excuses and life to get in the way of making time for the things that are important to us. And blogging is very important to me.
I know that most of you are not waiting by the computer screen, desperately waiting for a new post to pop up. But if you are… GIRL YOU ARE MY HERO! Anyway, it can take just a few moves in the wrong direction to get off track. And getting back on track can take more effort that we realized it would. So let’s get back on track together!
When life gets chaotic, it can be nice to have a set of beauty items that you know you can count on. Having a bag of a few makeup items that you know work well with your needs can be a life saver in times when you have to pull yourself together quickly!
A few weeks ago on Twitter, I asked you guys what type of blog posts were your favorite, and a lot of you said beauty! So today, I wanted to share with you 5 items that are staples in my makeup bag.
1. A Flawless Foundation
Above all, getting your skin to look as good as possible should be the most important part of your beauty routine. Finding the perfect foundation is crucial to having a signature makeup look. I recently did a YOUTUBE VIDEO all about my top foundations. But my favorite foundation at the moment is Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.
2. A Setting Powder
Getting your makeup to stay in place can be a battle all on its own. Even if you have dry skin, it is a good idea to have a powder on hand in case you find yourself in a warmer climate. When I want a little coverage, I have been really loving the Arbonne Mineral Powder Foundation. It gives the perfect amount of coverage without looking cakey. You can wear it by itself or on top of your foundation. If you prefer a translucent powder, than I also love the Laura Mercier Powder.
3. A Golden Highlighter
I am sure you are well aware by now that shimmery highlighters that make your cheek bones pop is now an everyday must do in your daily makeup routine. If your cheekbones ain’t pop’n then you’re doing it wrong! There are so many highlighters on the market to choose from, but my personal favorite is the Becca Cosmetics Champagne Pop Highlighter. If you are lucky, you still might be able to get your hands on this Becca Cosmetic Face Palette in some Sephora Stores. But if not, they sell the highlighters separately!
4. A Dynamic Brow Duo
Whether you like your eyebrows to look more natural or try to get those Instagram brows, you have to at least do SOMETHING to them! Your eyebrows shape your face. So invest in a good eyebrow pencil and clear eyebrow gel to keep your brow hairs from moving all over the place. My dynamic duo is the Anastasia Brow Definer in Taupe and their Clear Brow Gel.
5. A Non-Orange Looking Bronzer
I am so surprised to find so many people are still using orange colored bronzers from the drugstore. I will be honest and tell you that there are VERY FEW good bronzers at the drugstore. Bronzer is something you should spend a little extra money on so that it applies smoothly. My two favorites are Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion in 30M.
I know that it can seem like a big investment to create a solid makeup bag. But take your time and buy quality pieces. Over time you will have found a set of products that really make you look and feel your best. What are some of your favorite makeup bag must haves?
*Disclaimer: The only way to buy Arbonne Products is to go through a representative. My girl’s name is Amy. If you are interested in purchasing any of their products you can click HERE.
