Have you ever been afraid to try something because you thought there was no way you would ever be able to accomplish it? You take a look at a task and say, “Yeah, right there is NO WAY I would be able to do that.” Well, although that happens a lot in our day to day life in serious issues at work or home, it can also happen in your beauty life!
There have been several times that I have taken a look at one of Amber Fillerup’s many hair tutorials and said “Um, that looks gorgeous, but ain’t nobody got time for that!” But one day while I was in a rush, I decided to try a braid style on a whim and was shocked at how easy it was to accomplish!
So today I thought I would share how I do my braided bun hair style! The best part is it requires no heat and it is both easy and quick to do. It is a great style for running errands because your hair is out of your face but you are not sacrificing cuteness! It can be easy to get stuck in a hair rut and continually do the same styles over and over [ I am SO guilty of this!] But if you step outside your comfort zone, you might just be surprised what you can accomplish!
Step 1
Part the top section of your hair into 3 sections. Begin to braid, slowing adding more hair by your ears.
Step 2
Continue braiding until you reach the nape of your neck. Secure with a small elastic.
Step 3
Start the other side of your head by completing the same steps. Part the top of your head into 3 sections and braid down to the nape of your neck. Make sure to continually add more and more hair. Your braid will get bigger as your go down your neck. Secure with an elastic. You should have two braided pony tails at this point.
Step 4
Twist the non braided part of your hair into a sleek bun. Secure with a small elastic and a bobbie pin.
