This month was a great month of ‘beauty buys’ for me! I finally gave into all hype and purchased the Anastasia Contour Kit. And Morphe’s first round of shipment went through for the Jaclyn Hill’s Favorites Palettte. These two items especially stole the show in my makeup collection. Although not all of these items are “new” they are what stuck out to me for the entire month of January. These are the products I gravitated for above all others!
1. Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I have very sparse and thin lashes. I normally gravitate toward a mascara that adds thickness and volume.
For Christmas, I received the Urban Decay Naked on the Run and this palette included the Perversion mascara.
After the first couple uses, I was in love!
It is insane how long they make my baby lashes, while making them look voluminous.
2. NYX Lip Liner in Natural
I picked up this product at my local Ulta for only $3.50.
This pinky brown nude is perfect under so many lipsticks!
I grabbed this pencil all month to go under my nude lipsticks and loved to pair it with a smokey eye.
3. Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette by Morphe Brushes
Jaclyn Hill is my girl! She definitely my favorite “Youtube Guru.” And I can definitely attribute
a lot of what I have learned about makeup to her. She collaborated with Morphe and picked out
her favorite eye shadows from their collation. The best part is the palette was only $27.99!
It is going on sale one more time in February, but after that it is gone forever!
4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit
This palette contains 3 contour shades and 3 highlight shades. I like to use Fawn for carving out
my cheekbones and Banana for setting my under eye concealer and highlighting that area.
I love this so much and I use it every single day!
5. Gerard Cosmetics Lipgloss in Butter Cream
This brand of cosmetics is only sold online, but it hasn’t stop it from spreading like wild fire.
This pinky nude gloss is the perfect color to pair with a nude lipstick.
I bring this shade with me when I go out and EVERYONE goes crazy over it for this reason:
When you pull the wand out go the tube, it lights up like a flash light!
There is even a mirror on the side so you can apply at any time of day. Full review HERE.
6. NYX HD Concealer
People have claimed that this is a dupe for the “Nars Radiant Concealer.”
I would say that it is a great alternative.
The reason I love it so much is how great it is for the price point.
It offers high coverage, while still being blendable.
It does crease on me though, so I HAVE TO set it with powder after application.
7. Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick in Buttercup
Apparently I was really into pink nude lips this month! The NYX lip pencil, Butter cream lipgloss,
and this Butercup lipstick were the perfect combo. It can be difficult to find a nude lipstick that
doesn’t wash you out. This is my “Holy Grail” nude lip.
8. Ardell Glamour Wispies
As I have said before, I generally only buy drug store lashes.
I have been a big fan of the “wispy style” for a while, but this month I tried the Glamour addition.
These are a little longer than the regular wispiess, and I love how they take my look to the next level.
And of course the price is right, since you can purchase them at the drugstore.
