Color can be so impactful on our mood. I am sure you have noticed that certain palettes give you different emotions. We are each drawn to various shades and find them attractive or not according to our own tastes. So often we are told what to were according to our skin tone, culture, or the latest magazine trends. But the older that I have gotten, the more I find myself determining the colors that I choose to wear without concern about the opinions of the world.
In today’s day and age, we have more power over our closet choices than ever before. So there really is no reason that we cannot wear colors that bring us feelings of happiness. I encourage you to select items while shopping that bring you joy. If a color makes you happy, wear it! Don’t worry if it will “flatter” your undertone or not.
There was a time when I felt a pressure to buy neural clothing. This list or that article would tell me that I needed “a black blazer” or a “white t shirt.” But as I collected these items in neutral colors, I looked at my wardrobe and did not feel a sense of joy. Since I have incorporated more colors into my outfits, I now look at my wardrobe with a sense of excitement and pride. This is not to say that you should not have a closet of neutral basics. If you find that you are happiest and most “yourself” in those shades, that by all means wear them!

Do you have any fun vacations planned? As we just moved to Florida, it almost feels like we are on a vacation! It really hasn’t set in that we have moved. So for now, I will soak up the sun pretending that this is a vacay that doesn’t end with me unpacking a million boxes!
