Dress: Nordstrom Bag: Nordstrom Booties: Forever 21 Jacket: Asos
I’ve been chatting a lot about fall fashion on this little space, and for some of you that might seem a little annoying. I hear you, “But Hannah, it’s like still 100 degrees where I live.” I know girl. I feel you. Literally, it’s so darn hot here in Dallas still! But the reason I like to discuss trends a little early is so that you can begin the process of preparing your wardrobe ahead of time. Because when the temperatures drop, it is usually without much warning. Plus with big sales happening during this time of year, it is the most ideal time to get your closet stocked with staples.
So we typically think florals for summer and spring right? Well actually there has been a trend going on for the past two falls or so to incorporate floral fabrics into your fall wardrobe. If you are looking to have a more autumn like color scheme, I would choose floral fabrics in mustards/golds( like this one), blacks, burgundies, etc. But let’s just say budget is not going to allow for you to pick up several new floral dresses for fall. There is an easy trick to take your summer dresses into the next season. Are you ready for it? Here is your secret weapon!
The Secret Weapon: The Suede Moto Jacket
Throw a brown (or another neutral color) suede jacket over any of your floral dresses and pair it with a pair of boots and a darker handbag and you have a brand new fall outfit! Sometimes just a few key pieces can completely transform your closet! So if you can only grab two things this season then I would definitely grab a jacket and a fall colored floral dress!
So easy right? You will get so much more wear out of your summer dresses when you pull out this little secret weapon. I actually picked up my suede jacket last year and it was by far by favorite item I grabbed. But if you can justify another dress, this one fits so beautifully and is the total definition of how to wear a floral dress this time of year. What do you think of this look?
