This year has been a really hard year for me. Many may assume it is probably because of the change and challenges that come with birthing and bringing a child into the world. But the funny thing is that it has had absolutely nothing to do with motherhood. Maybe I have had to juggle and balance more than ever before, and in-turn that relates to caring for a baby. But having a baby boy has actually brought upon far more joy than struggle.
The difficulty of this year has often made me feel alone as I have bottle up a lot of emotion and struggle. Keeping it in and allowing sadness to take its hold. I think so many of us neglect to see how no matter how happy a person might seem, they are battling their own unique struggle. But I wanted to write this post because I read something the other day that shook me to my core.
“For suffering is a far different thing from sadness, which is the worst disease of all. It is almost always caused by lack of faith…to live without faith, without a patrimony to defend, without a steady struggle for truth, that is not living, but existing. ” Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati
In that moment that I took in the words on the page, I realized that my sadness was not situational. It was caused by a lack of faith. That quote struck such a cord with me because I realized that if you have faith and trust in your path and purpose amidst your challenges or suffering you can still experience moments of joy.
This year especially has brought such clarity and direction even behind this little blog space on the internet. Although the name was originally a fun little saying that spoke truth to my little pleasures in life, it came alive to mean so much more. From the depths of my being I believe in creating as many moments of joy as I can. That is Glam Life Living. It is about creating JOY! Because damnit, life is hard enough right?!
This is how I am saying YES to JOY.
- Setting myself up for the best day possible by putting something on my body everyday that makes me happy.
- Taking care of myself by eating better and moving my body so that I can live healthier and more active lifestyle.
- Spending moments of quiet with my higher power so that I can see and appreciate all that I have to be grateful for in my life.
- Enjoying as many little moments of luxury as I can and soaking in and fully living those joyful moments when they do come.
- Trusting that the plan for my life has already been intricately designed for my greater good.
