I think a lot of us get so caught up in our routines, even on the weekends, that we forget to experiment and jump outside our comfort zone. I know for me especially, I have so much to do on the weekends that it often feels so mundane and I am stuck cleaning or doing other errands all weekend. But this weekend, I am challenging the both of us to try a few new things and bring a little excitement back to our weekends.

Macaroons

One of my biggest regrets in life is that while traveling in Paris during college, I neglected to eat a macaroon. I seriously kick myself to this day. Okay, yeah maybe I was a little dramatic in saying it is one of “biggest regrets.” I saw them everywhere in Paris, but just didn’t think they looked all that special. Oh how wrong I was! The Venetian Casino has one of my favorite little macaroon shops. I actually mentioned it in my last post. But anyway, see if your area has a little bakery that has macaroons and splurge on a few!

2. A New Coffee Shop

If you read my posts regularly, you know I love going to my local coffee shops to blog or just hang out with my husband. We have a Harry Potter themed coffee shop near us that makes some of the most unique lattes. My favorite is the coconut lavender latte. Almost every area has a few whole in the wall places that can be diamonds in the rough.

3. A New Foundation

Weekends can be a great time to try out new products. I just picked up the new Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation and I am so excited to test it out. I will let you know my thoughts after a week or so, but if you need some tips on picking out a new formula, I have a post called Everything You Need to Know About Foundation

4. Walking Around Your Local Park

We had lived in our area for almost a year when we discovered the most gorgeous park in our area. I couldn’t believe it was right under our noses the entire time! Now that it is starting to warm up, I want to make more of an effort to have little picnics and mini dates there. I bet you would be surprised what cute little parks you have near you!

5. Organizing Your Bathroom Closet

I found this video on Youtube a couple of weeks ago, and it totally inspired me to reorganize my linen closet. I purchased a few cute baskets from Homegoods and it really did wonders for my bathroom. You can find tons of inspiration on Pinterest as well. And if you’re not following me on there yet, you totally should!

6. A New Read

I always love a good excuse to drop into Barnes in Noble. Yesterday my mom was telling me how good The Magnolia Story is by the Fixer Upper couple, Chip and Joanna. I actually don’t watch the show, but I am thinking about picking it up since everyone is talking about it.

7. A Green Smoothie Recipe

I’ll be honest and say I have been slacking off in making my green smoothie recipes. I think one reason is that I am bored of it. I am thinking of trying out either this recipe or this one tomorrow!

What are you thinking of trying this weekend? Leave some ideas below!
