California stole my heart this weekend. Last minute, I decided to take a trip to the Newport and Laguna Beach areas to meet up with some girl friends from college for a weekend getaway. It was as if we had traveled back in time to our high school years and paraded about the beach without any cares in the world. True bliss like that is a dime a dozen and I was so grateful to have had such a refreshing weekend away with my gal pals.
As expected, we spent a lot of time at the beach and it got me thinking about writing a post of you all about how to still look pretty fabulous, even while you are soaking up that sun! So, I put together 6 tips on How to Look Glamorous at the pool!
1. Pick Out a Fabulous Swim Suit of Course!
It is common sense that you need a cute swim suit for sun bathing, but I have found high waisted bottoms to be both flattering and fun! It makes me feel like that photo of Grace Kelly in her all white suit and high waisted bottoms, just sitting there looking stunning!
2. Floppy Hats Both Proclaim and Protect
Floppy hats not only give you that feminine look while laying out, but is also can really help to prevent future wrinkles by shading your face from those intense rays. I have been eyeing this Custom Ribbon Hat that all the bloggers seem to have!
3. A Little Makeup Never Hurt!
I am not one that likes to tan my face. I try to protect it the best I can with sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. And if the weather is not too hot, I like to throw on a little mineral makeup and a bold lipstick color. It just makes you feel so fresh and fun!
4. A Unique Cover Up is a Must
Investing in a cute cover up is one easy way to make a fashion statement at the pool or beach. It says a lot about your personality and personal style. I like to find ones that will compliment a couple of different bathing suits.
5. Who Said Jewelry Wasn’t for the Pool?!
Especially if you are not one to play around in the water, earrings bring so much dimension and excitement to your pool side ensemble. You can get really crazy with it too, the bigger, the better!
6. Sunnies are Your New Best Friend
I am smacking myself for forgetting to wear sunglasses for this post! But a chic pair of sunnies can hide a makeup free face and create a colorful twist to your poolside outfit. I suggest going bold and fun for your beach or poolside sunnies.
