I am a creature of habit. I tend to order the same entree at restaurants, I buy the same groceries, and gravitate toward the same products over and over again. I have been this way for a long time, until recently. You see my husband is the exact opposite. He likes variety and change, and slowly but surely he has changed me! I have noticed that I have begun to get a little more experimental in my everyday decisions, and the new change has even affected my makeup routine!

Even though I will admit that I still like to use my ride or die products on a daily basis, I have also introduced a few newbies to my morning makeup application. Playing makeup is something that I look forward to doing every morning. I actually (no joke) get a little bit giddy when it is time to sit in front of that mirror and begin the glamformation! But I mean when you are getting  up at 5:30am every morning, you need some kind of motivation!

Switching up your signature look does not need to be dramatic. If you are a someone who likes the comfort of a daily routine, then no fear! These changes will be painless and easy. Here are 5 ways you can spruce up your signature makeup look!

1. Update Your “Go To” Lip Shade

I think the easiest way to change your look is to change your signature lipstick. We all have that lip color that we tend to grab over all the others. But simply altering your lip color can really brighten and freshen up your face! I suggest going for a more mauve color for this season. I am love the new Nars Velvet Lip Glide in Bound.

2. Add a Winged Eye Liner

I think people often get intimidated with winged eye liner, but the truth is it doesn’t need to be big and dramatic! It can be simple and thin. I actually have one of the worst eye shapes to do winged eye liner on. During makeup artistry school, we would all practice on each other, and no one could ever get it right on my eyes! So trust me, if I can do it, so can you!

2. Change Your Transition Eye Shadow Color

Just in case you are makeup newbie, a transition eye shadow color is the shade that you put in the crease of your eye. It often helps to “transition” the other eye shadow colors and make it look more seamless. I usually opt for a light warm brown shade, but recently I have been trying to step outside of my comfort zone and use colors like mauves or even darker browns.

4. Give Your Brows Some Love

Let me start by saying, my brows need some TLC! I need to get them threaded ASAP! But investing in a few solid brow products can change your whole face. I have pictures to prove that! Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer and Brow Gel are my must have products. If you do nothing else to update your look, pay attention to your brows.
