Dress: H&M
Since my belly is slowly taking over, I thought it was time for another bumpdate! Pregnancy is such roller coaster, especially for a first time mother. Everything is new and exciting as your body ventures down this miracle of a journey. Today I am sharing a little update on how my pregnancy is going so far.
How Far Along:
Tomorrow I start week 28. I can’t believe I am almost in my final trimester!
Symptoms:
It is so true what they say about second trimester being the easiest. Overall, I have felt great the past few weeks. But as I approach the final trimester, I can tell that my body is changing rapidly. Things that were easy over the last trimester are now becoming difficult. Falling asleep has started to become a challenge and I have stopped picking up things that I drop because it just isn’t worth bending down to get it! I feel him moving all the time, which is still such an amazing feeling.
I did have an incident last week where I thought I was having severe contractions. I was on the floor crying in pain for over an hour, but I thought they were just Braxon Hicks contractions. I didn’t want to be bothered with going to the hospital because I just thought it was normal. After an hour, I attempted googling my symptoms to figure out whether or not I needed to rush to the ER. I found out that during severe dehydration your body can react this way. It was actually severe muscle cramping due to lack of hydration. After downing several glasses of water and laying on my left side, they finally subsided. I learned my lesson on staying hydrated in the Vegas heat!
Cravings:
I am no longer eating animal crackers every night! I really do not have any cravings, although last week I got Panera twice because it just sounded so good! Actually, it sounds pretty good now too 😉
Emotions:
To be completely honest, the past few weeks I have been very distracted with everyday life that I haven’t really been thinking too much about being pregnant. Although, this week it has kind of started to hit me that I really need to start preparing more in these final weeks. I think my defense mechanism against the fear of birth is to distract myself as much as possible. But as I always say, preparation is victory. So that means I need to start prepping my mind for baby, even if the whole labor and delivery gives me anxiety.
Pregnancy Products:
There have been a couple of things that have really helped me get through the past few weeks. My favorite book that I have read so far is Bringing up Bébé. I loved the whole concept of parenting and it really helped my perspective on prepping for motherhood. As for a favorite product, I have been loving the Vasseur Beauty Oil to prevent stretch marks so far. And one thing that I have yet to like is my pregnancy body pillow. I have tried sleeping with it a couple different occasions, but it hurts my neck every time! I rather throw a pillow between my legs and call it a night.
I can’t believe there is only 12 weeks left till we meet baby. Hopefully this final trimester treats me well! Thanks for reading.
You look amazing! I feel like I am so much bigger than you! lol It’s funny b/c we have the same symptoms & cravings. I’ll keep in mind to hydrate constantly, b/c I’m usually trying to chug my remaining ounces before bed lol. I’ll have to check that book out too! 🙂 xo Dani
